Summerland Private Wine Tour
Just off the highway between Kelowna and Penticton lies the stunning bottleneck drive wineries of Summerland. The rolling hills, fertile ice age clay, and volcanic soils add unique tantalizing characteristics to the wine grown here. It's a little warmer climate than Kelowna and the stunning Naramata Bench which can be appreciated from many vineyard vistas across the Okanagan lake. Combine that winning formula with small innovative wine makers, and people are taking notice of this unique area.

DID YOU KNOW?
Summerland is also home to a world class government research centre which has been instrumental in the Okanagan's evolution as a famous wine region, and the development of an export quality orchard fruit industry. PARC (Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre) is a 790 acre site focused on keeping Canada competitive with the rest of the world, and shapes the agricultural landscape of the Okanagan. The research station has tested many varieties against the Okanagan's unique climate over the last 100 years. Along with the North American Free Trade Agreement, and several winemaking pioneers, it was instrumental in bringing many popular french and german varieties we have today to the Okanagan and enabling them to thrive.
